Writer Alan Grant, one of the authors of a graphic novel adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's "Kidnapped" (text by Alan Grant, illustrations by Cam Kennedy).
Here at the launch of the "One Book-One Edinburgh" campaign which will run throughout February 2007, and is designed to promote the reading of books in Edinburgh by getting the whole City reading the same book. The campaign is run by the Edinburgh UNESCO City of Litterature Trust, which commissioned the "Kidnapped" graphic novel, and the printing of thousands of copies of a new edition of R.L.Stevenson's novel which will be distributed for free throughout the City.
The launch was held at Edinburgh Castle and is part of a month-long series of events designed to boost awareness of reading, support literacy projects and engage with communities.
